The Chateau Ste Michelle Winery, one of the Eastside's most iconic sites, has been sold to an East Coast investment company for over a billion dollars.
In the Puget Sound region, the winery is probably as much known for it's summer concert series, held on it's beautiful ground in the South part of Woodinville, as it is for it's product.
For over a generation, the winery had been operated by tobacco company Altria, maker of Marlboro cigarettes.
Sale of the winery to Sycamore Partners, is expected to close in the latter half of this year.

When I first got married, this is where it happened! Beautiful place, and a lovely day. Too bad about the marriage. xD Thanks for sharing, what a cool story!
