Tennessee Grad Peyton Manning Wins Bart Starr Award

Congratulations to Denver Bronco quarterback Peyton Manning, for being awarded the Bart Starr Award
for community service.  The Starr award is sort of the football equivalent of baseball's Hutch award.  It is named after Green Bay Packer great Bart Starr.  Bart Starr and Johnny Unitas were the two greatest quarterbacks of their era, some would say, of all time.
Peyton Manning quarterbacked the Tennessee Vols, the school where my wife graduated.

Manning Now A Horse Of A Different Color

Peyton Manning went from being a Colt to a Bronco this week.  After days of being one of the most sought after free agents in NFL history, Manning has decided to play for previous quarterback legend John Elway, now Denver's GM. 
Manning follows fellow Colt Johnny Unitas, Joe Namath, and Joe Montana as quarterback greats who finished with different teams than where they carved their legend.

Can Seahawks Land Superstar Quarterback

When was the last time the Seattle Seahawks landed a big time free agent?  Reports are out that the Seattle Seahawks have entered the Peyton Manning Sweepstakes.  Manning, who lead the Colts to 2 Super Bowls and one victory is an alumni of Tennessee where my wife went to College was just released .  The future Hall Of Famer would, if healthy, add swagger if not a Super Bowl to the 'Hawks, but there are other teams gunning for him and he may not be warm to the idea of playing on the West Coast. 

Seahawks Drop 3rd In A Row

Taking on Peyton Manning and the Colts in Indianapolis would have been a tall order for a Seahawk team at full strength, let alone a banged up, squad missing 2 of it's greatest players.

Manning threw for 353 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-17 victory. Seahawk Quarterback Seneca Wallace threw for 257 yards and one touchdown in valiant effort. The Colts are now 4 and 0 on the season--Seattle is 1 and 3.

Manning Gets His Ring In "SnoozeperBowl"

In 1998, many thought that the Indianapolis Colts made a mistake by drafting Tennessee's Peyton Manning over Washington State's Ryan Leaf. Ryan is long gone from Pro football and Peyton Manning is today a Superbowl Champion.

The game started with a bang whenChicago Bear Devon Hester ran the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown slowly turned into a "when will this be over" Colt offensive marathon. Even the commercials were forgettable. The Halftime show with Prince was a pleasant surprise, but for the most part, it was a dreary forgettable game.
