Lee Goldberg Novel Movieland--Review

This is the fourth book in Lee Goldberg's Eve Ronin series but the first that I've read.  It has been so long since I had read a book that was so good that it was hard to put down, but this is definitely it.

Movieland is not about the Hollywood movie scene as much as it's about a series of shootings and murders in a popular Los Angeles area place known as Malibu Creek Park.  It had a history of having movie scenes shot (no pun intended) there, which is probably how the book got its title.

Eve Ronin is a young detective in the Los Angeles County Sherriff's office who is "married" to her job.  Her partner is a veteran cop named Duncan "Doughnuts" Pavone, who is weeks away from retirement.  Ronin has alienated herself from much of the force for uncovering a police scandal and that really comes into play in the book.

This book is an excellent "who done it" where anyone and everyone could be the culprit. There is great imagery and intrigue.

I started recommending this book before I even finished.  It is so good that I just ordered the first book of Goldberg's Eve Ronin series, Lost Hills.
