As Kamala Harris makes history as Vice President as the first woman Vice President, as well as other firsts, Doug Emhoff, her husband, still largely unknown, will make history of his own.
Emhoff will be the first husband to a president or Vice President. He will also be the first Jewish person to serve as spouse to a vice president or president of the United States. The latter is of particular significance to me as I've watched barriers break.
Upon Harris assuming office this Wednesday, Emhoff will have the designation of "Second Gentleman"
