Arnold "Red" Auerbach, who molded the Boston Celtics into a sports dynasty similar to baseball's New York Yankees, has passed away at 89. Auerbach coached the Celtics to 9 world championships, then guided them through 7 more as General Manager. He began coaching the Celtics in the 50s. During Auerbach's long career, the Celtics had such legends as Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, and Larry Bird. Auerbach made the victory cigar famous. It wound up being an expensive habit for Red!
