Len Dawson Dies

 Len Dawson, one of the best known AFL quarterbacks, the first AFL player to quarterback in the Super Bowl and the second AFL quarterback to win a Super Bowl has died. Dawson played for the Kansas City Chiefs.  He was 87.  

He is pictured above with current Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is carving his own place in the team's history.  

It's 49ers Vs Chiefs

The San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in this year's  Super Bowl.  Both teams have won the Lombardi Trophy decades ago.  The Chief's, who were in the first Super Bowl, losing to the Green Bay Packers,  would come back and win Super Bowl 4.  They are returning with the record of longest time between Super Bowl appearances.  

 The 49ers last Super Bowl win was in 1994. The Chiefs  last win was in 1970.

Seahawk Clark Traded To KC

The Seattle Seahawks have announced that they are trading star defensive end Frank Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 1st round draft pick for Thursday's draft, a second pick in next year's draft and an exchange of 3rd round picks.   

Super Bowl Memories: Super Bowl IV

The Kansas City Chiefs lost the very first Super Bowl, but in Super Bowl IV, they became the very first Super Bowl loser to come back and win. As a matter of fact, every loser of the first 10 Super Bowls would come back to win a Super Bowl, with the exception of the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings, by the way, were the losers of Super Bowl IV.

Home Cookin' No Longer Seahawks Edge

The Seattle Seahawks were soundly for the second home game in a row as they lost 42-24 to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs were bolstered by Quarterback Matt Cassell, who threw a career high 4 touchdown passes. Seahawk QB Matt Hasselbeck threw for 282 yards and had two touchdown passes, but also had two interceptions and a costly fumble.
