Maple Valley Celebrates

Maple Valley had its celebration on Friday the third.
We watched from our car in a nearby hill.

There is nothing quite like watching the fireworks burst and reflect perfectly over the water at Lake Wilderness Park. It truly shows off the natural beauty of Maple Valley. Hosting the fireworks on July 3rd is the ultimate holiday weekend cheat code—it lets us celebrate as a community first, and still leaves the actual 4th open for family BBQs. Sloppy joes, food trucks, and sitting on the Beach Lawn with blankets—this event feels like a classic, small-town slice of Americana right in our backyard. Having the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra play live accompaniment to the fireworks elevates the entire show into something magical. It's so much better than listening to a generic pre-recorded track. Seeing the local Jr. Idol winner stand up and sing the National Anthem right before the countdown is always such a proud moment for our town. From the morning's homemade pie-baking contest to the grand finale over the trees, July 3rd is easily my favorite day of the year in the valley.
