Bee Gees Tribute In Federal Way

 Last Saturday (October 24th, 2026), we enjoyed the band You Should Be Dancing at the Federal Way Performing Arts And Entertainment Center.  They did an incredible show. I'll post a few videos, here, they do How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.

Tahoma High School Clip On Sunday Night Football

I knew this highlight shown at halftime on TV during the game on SNFlooked familiar.  

It was the high school game we were at Friday.

The Seahawks, by the way, beat the Chiefs 20-3.

The Tahoma High mascot greets fans. For the first time, i checked out the Maple Valley high school football game as our neighbor had an extra ticket. 

The game was exciting, and the team played hard, but the visiting Kennedy Catholic put on an offensive show, beating the Bears 45-24

Viper--Seattle Based Actor Tom Skerritt Dies

 Tom Skerritt, a Seattle based actor that played a variety of roles, but whom I know best as Mike Metcalf, the flight instructor commander, whose job it was to tame the seemingly incorrigible Maverick in Top Gun has died.   

The Viper character, was tough, but smooth, realizing the tremendous genius, of his fliers, but making sure they had proper discipline, 

Skerritt also appeared in movies such as Mash and Alien.  He won a Prime Time Emmy in 1993 for playing a sheriff in Picket Fences.

Skerritt was 93. 

Autumn In Duvall

Spent a fun afternoon at the Muddy Boots Pumpkin Patch in Duvall. 

We were able to navigate our way through the corn maze, it's not easy.

Duvall is a tiny town, just East of Redmond.

Candlelight Concert Queen vs Abba.

In the Stately Arctic Club Hotel, we enjoyed the local musicians who performed Queen and Abba songs at last night's (Sunday, October 18th, 2026) candlelight concert. 

The performance was under a dome on the second floor of the building.  One might wonder why Queen would be coupled with Abba, considering they were differences in the two bands styles, yet, it all came together for an entertaining evening. 

Seattle NBA Expansion Hits A Hiccup

 What did the NBA commissioner, Adam Silver have to gain by doing this. Seattle has done everything it can to make room for the Sonics return.

Old Walla Walla Radio Remembered 42--KTEL Becomes Area Seahawks Station

in 1976, dreams across Washington came true when Seattle Seahawks joined the NFL. Seattle was actually awarded the franchise in 1974.

In Walla Walla, KTEL won the rights to broadcast the games.

The Last Jimothy Toys

They are modeled after Seattle's unique raccoon, the Jimothy dog chew toy was a hot item in the area. 

Reports were there the Covington Costco was the last area to stock them.

Rick Rizzs Raises The 12th Man Flag At Seahawk Game

 At the 49ers vs Seahawks game, the honor of raising the 12th Man Flag, fell to Rick Rizzs, the newly retired Mariner broadcaster.

Return Of Jan Goldberg Curran

My cousin Jan Goldberg Curran got to do what many dream about, return to her hometown as a hero. 

She had her first (I think) book published and returned to her native Walla Walla for a book signing.

I lived there at the time, so I have no idea why I failed to attend. 

My brother, Steve, found this ad in the UB archives.

By coincidence, the event was exactly one year before the eruption of Mount St Helens.

Mike Ditka--Legendary Coach

Mike Ditka, whom with one Super Bowl victory coaching the Bears, became a legend has died.  Ditka let the 1985 Chicago Bears to a title with a team considered to be one of the greatest of all-time

Loaded with personalities like Walter Payton and William "The Refrigerator" Perry, the Bears compiled a 15-1 regular season.  

In his playing days, Ditka was a tight end, considered the man who revolutionized the position.  It was at one time, mostly a blocking position into a pass receiving threat.  He played for the Bears, and the Dallas Cowboys. 

Ditka was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1988, he was the first tight end to be inducted.
