Woodstock 50th Anniversary

No doubt the most famous single event of the counterculture, Woodstock, took place
August 15-19th, 1969.  It featured artist like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and the Who, along with many more classic rock acts.
An attempt have Woodstock 50 to commemorate the festival, couldn't get off the ground.

Santana At The White River

We had a very enjoyable afternoon  and evening at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, enjoying two classic rock bands, The Doobie Brothers and Santana.

Although the weather had been miserable for most of the week, it couldn't have been much better for the show.

Santana, who played at Woodstock is booked to join many other popular bands at a festival celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary rock event in August.

Woodstock Festival Turns 40

The festival that largely defined Rock and the Counterculture, Woodstock, turns 40 on August 15th. The 1969 festival took place in Bethel, New York and ran from August 15th (a Friday) to August 18th. Some of the acts which played were Country Joe (pictured above), CCR,, Richie Havens, Grateful Dead, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin. Woodstock was often imitated, but never duplicated. The Altamont festival, which was held 4 months later is,for the most part, considered a disaster by historians.
