Dasher Time

We have now been back from the Oregon Coast for a week, but I've been happy to keep the trip going through pictures.  Here is a selfie that I took of Dasher and I in Cannon Beach.  It's easy to get him on the bench. 

More Seaside 2016

Some more pictures to share.  Top Picture, on Cannon Beach's Main Street, Dasher sat right down on a bench, I tried to take a selfie of the 2 of us.
Middle picture,  Across the street from the Resort At Seaside where we stayed, is the Gilbert Inn.  It is the former home of Seaside Pioneer Alexandre Gilbert, who sold the land that became Seaside's Prom.  It is now a bed and breakfast place.
Bottom picture,  The American flag flies along with the Oregon flag at the Resort At Seaside.

Trip To Seaside IV--Cannon Beach

Down the road from Seaside,  Cannon Beach is the more relaxed town.  It has no arcades, but instead art galleries and book stores.

Weekend In Seaside

Last Saturday, we headed to our favorite getaway spot, Seaside, Oregon.  We stayed at The Resort At Seaside, which is a great place, but does not allow dogs.  We were able to leave  Dasher overnights with Cindy, A friend that we met on our last trip (in September) that lives a few blocks from the condo.
We had dinner Saturday at the Seaside Brewery, where we watched the Apple Cup.  Although we were in Oregon, they were happy to change the channel from the Civil War (Oregon vs Oregon State) to the Cup.  Sadly both the Civil War and The Apple Cup were  one sided.
Sunday morning, after watching a beautiful sunrise (top picture), we collected Dasher and drove across the big bridge to Long Beach to visit the Cranberry Museum. We then took the dog to Loomis Lake State Park and walked him to the surf.  Afterward we drove back across the Astoria-Megler Bridge, an imposing structure, and walked downtown Astoria.  Before finishing the day, we drove to Cannon Beach and checked out the shops.  We had dinner at Mo's where we watched the sunset (middle picture).
Next morning, we had breakfast at the Osprey, then walked down the beach (bottom picture).

Barers Of Maple Valley Return From Trip

Deb and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend in Seaside Oregon. Deb's Mom was with us as we had a relaxing time walking the beaches of Gearheart, Seaside, and Cannon Beach.  Seaside, of course was a family tradition growing up, one that was easily passed on to Deb's family.  We stayed at Worldmark resort at the famous turnaround, where these pictures were taken.

Long Beach VI: Cannon Beach

Some familiar shots around a familiar place, Cannon Beach is just down the road from Seaside.  With small shops, ice cream parlors, and lack of fast food chains, not to mention a beautiful beach, and of course, Haystack Rock  (top picture), it never fails to charm.  We went there on Sunday.
