Court Rules That Sawant Recall Effort Can Proceed

Seattle Superior Court Judge Jim Rogers has ruled that a recall effort against Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant can move forward.

The charges against Sawant include using her Seattle City Hall pass key to allow protesters to enter the building and appearing at a protest outside the home of Mayor Jenny Durkan.

To get the recall effort on the 2021 ballot, the organizers need to collect 10,000 signatures from people living in Sawant's district.
