I knew that I had read about this. During the mid 1960s, Charlie Brown worked the pea harvest in Milton-Freewater, which is located just a hop, skip, and jump from Walla Walla. Brown, the future beloved Seattle DJ, who has just passed away, would listen at night to KTEL and hometown DJ Burl Barer, who would also have a very successful career in Seattle radio.

Great post Mike. I remember working in the Milton-Freewater cannery back then.
I remember thginking the same thing, there was a similarity in the delivery of Charlie and Pat. Also, if you play a Burl Barer aircheck at 16 RPM, you have Larry Lujack.
That's a compliment. Larry was the highest paid jock in the country. His firing from Moscow, ID's KRPL was legendary at WSU.
