Veteran Broadcaster Bock Honored
This blog contains many posts on Walla Walla radio history. Jim Bock is a living breathing part of that. He has been on the air since 1979 and is still going strong. He has worked for each of Walla Walla's 3 big stations, K-Hit, KTEL, and KUJ. Known locally as The Voice Of The Valley, Bock has just won the John P. Destito Award, an award that goes to non-Italians for promotion Itatian heritage. According to the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, he is known to most as the announcer to the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede.

I was in a Little Theater play with Jim 32 years ago.
I enjoyed working with Jim back in the late-70s on K-Hit! He worked with Jack Comfort and Willa Sandmeyer as well...both wonderful people and broadcasters. I still hear Jim on the air occasionally! Hi Jim!
Jim Bock was a fellow student at LH Bates Voc-Tech/Tacoma in the early 70s.He had talent and was one that had the work ethic to help him become a successful long-term broadcaster.
