The AFI, which I would think stands for American Film Institute has recently published the top 100 movie quotes. Some of the top ten are so immerced in our culture that the quote is more famous than the movie. Today I will so you the top 30.

I'm surprised at how many of those movies I've seen.
Incidentally, I believe that the quote from the Maltese Falcon is the movie's (and possibly the novel's -- I haven't read it) misquote of a line from Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST. From memory, I think the line from the play is, "We are such stuff as dreams are made on/And our little lives are rounded by a sleep."
I think they really wanted to put just enough to satisfy every genre. Some of those are debatable.
