Seahawks, Fans Ruin Russell Wilson Return

By, coincidence, one day after watching the Mariners come back victory over the Braves, with the tying homerun and winning homeruns in the 9th inning, I joined my friend Rick to watch the Monday Night Football game featuring the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos.

This was the much-anticipated return of Russell Wilson his trade last March.   Like the Mariners game, this one went down to the last play, as the 'Hawks barely won after Denver curiously attempted a 60 plus yard field goal in the final 20 seconds.   The kick went wide, and the Hawks came away with a victory.  The question was, why not give Wilson a chance to get the first down and get in better field goal range? That's his forte.

While a mixed reception was predicted for Wilson's return, after all, he quarterbacked the Seahawks to a Super Bowl victory, the boos were overwhelming.

Seahawks Will Miss Wilson For About 6 Weeks

For the first time in about 10 years, the Seahawks will not have Russell Wilson as it's starting quarterback.  The engine behind the Seahawks success including a Super Bowl title and an almost annual appearence in post seasons, will be out for probably 6 weeks.

Wilson had started every regular season game since joining the franchise, defying an amazing number of brutal sacks that he had taken through the years.

His 149 consecutive starts is 6th amongst all NFL quarterbacks. Geno Smith, who looked impressive at times  in the Seahawks loss to the Rams, will guide the team in Wilson's absence.

Seahawks Beat Patriots In Dramatic Fashion

In what could be the most dramatic finish in Seahawk history, Patriot quarterback Cam Newton was stuffed at the 1 yard line to preserve a 35-30 victory.  The game was broadcast to a national Sunday Night Football audience on NBC and it did not disappoint.

Seahawk quarterback Russell Wilson had 5 touchdown passes as he gets off to a hot start for 2020.  The game was played at Century Link, but the 12s were absent.   The empty seats added an eerie vibe to the game.  Of course, the Patriots were without Tom Brady, but with Cam Newton at the controls, it looks like they will remain in the league elite.

Seahawks Get Quality Road Win

The Seattle Seahawks overcame a slow start, a loud stadium and a Cleveland  team that came ready to play to beat the Browns 32-28.
The Browns raced out to a 20-6 lead, not where you want to start when you're in Cleveland,  but the Hawks rallied toward the end of the half.  The Seahawks were down by just two at halftime.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw two touchdown passes, both to Jaren Brown and rushed for a third.  He wound up with 295 passing yards.  Running back Chris Carson had 124 yards and one touchdown.   The defense forced 4 turnovers.

Wilson, Cierra, Macklemore Invest In Seattle Sounders

An active Seattle Seahawk is now an owner of another major Seattle professional sports team.  It was announced this week that Wilson, his wife Ciara, Rapper Macklemore, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella were joining the ownership group of the Seattle Sounders.   The Sounders, who also play at Century Link Field, began play in 2009, and have one MLS Cup, won in 2016.

Paul Allen Honored

Although it's hard to see it in this picture, the 12 Man Flag flew at half staff today to honor the late owner of the Seahawks Paul Allen.  In the first home game in weeks, the Seahawks lost to the LA Chargers 25-17.
Chargers quarterback Phil Rivers seemed impervious to the loud crowd at Century Link Field.  Russell Wilson threw a costly interception that was run back for a touchdown that proved to be the difference in the game.
Allen was also honored with an insignia PGA 12 on the field.

Ciara And Russell Wilson Welcome A Daughter

Very few Seattle athletes have been able to make news in the off season as Seahawk quarterback Russell Wilson, it has been announced that Wilson's wife Ciara has given birth to a daughter, Sienna Princess Wilson.   It is the first child for Wilson, Ciara has a son from a previous relationship.

Wilson Leads Seahawks Back To Playoffs

The Seahawks will be back in the Playoffs as they beat the Cleveland Browns 30-13 victory.  Russell Wilson threw for 3 touchdowns to lead the 'Hawks to their 5th straight victory.   Russell Wilson became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 3 touchdowns with no interceptions for 5 consecutive games.
Quite a turnaround for the Seahawks, who had a less than spectacular start to this NFL season.

Seahawks Win Costly

The Seahawks 39-30 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers keeps their play off hopes alive, but the injury to tight end Jimmy Graham does not make it easier.  Graham (above) will need surgery on the patellar tendon on his right leg.  Graham, who was acquired from the Saints for Seahawk center Max Unger, injured the leg diving for a pass in the end zone.
The game was played in front of a home crowd, was perhaps the most exciting of the season.  Russell Wilson, who was celebrating in 27th birthday, throw for 345 yards and a career high 5 touchdown passes.  Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 456 yards, the worst air attack the Seahawks had ever suffered.

High Hopes For The Seahawks

Going into the 2013 season, the Seattle Seahawks are the sexy pick to win all the marbles. Title thirsty Seattle fans, who suffered through some let downs before, are cautiously optimistic.  Hoping that the Sports Illustrated cover jinx is really a myth, Russell Wilson adorns this week's cover.

T-Jack Is Back!

Sources are reporting that Tavaris Jackson will sign with the Seattle Seahawks for the 2013 season.  Jackson was the 'Hawks starting quarterback in 2011, but found himself odd man out for the next season as Seattle acquired Matt Flynn, thought at the time to be the new franchise quarterback.  Jackson was released and was acquired by Buffalo.  Russell Wilson, of course, won the Seattle job and is expected to continue at the position.  Jackson is expected to compete with Brady Quinn for the back up QB position, of course, with the Seahawks, you never know!

Seahawks Are In The Mix

The Seattle Seahawks, arguably the NFL's hottest team, will be gunning for it's 2nd Super Bowl Appearance.  The team blew out the San Francisco 49ers 42-13 in front of the entire nation last Sunday to clinch a playoff spot.   Rookie Quarterback Russell Wilson (above) appears ready to take the team toward a possible title.  However there is still plenty of football to be played.

Seahawks Get Victory--Not Respect

The Seattle Seahawks were not looking for controversy, they wanted to win a game in front of a Monday Night Football national audience.  The Seattle Seahawks beat one of the NFL's premier teams for the second week in a row by virtue of one  of the most controversial calls in league history. Noboby will remember the Seahawks' 8 sacks in the first half.  The Packers adjusted their offense in the second half and clearly gained control of the game.  In shades of the loss to the Cardinals in the first game of the season, Quarterback Russell Wilson could not put the ball into the endzone.  After turning the ball over, our defense came alive and made held Green Bay deep in it's own territory.  After what looked like another failure by the Hawks, Wilson found Golden Tate in the endzone and the rest is history.  Seattle 14  Green Bay 12.
