Marshawn Lynch Returns To Seattle--Joins The Seahawks

He's back, one of Seattle's most favorite players of all time Marshawn Lynch.  Known for causing the beast quake of 2011.  
Yesterday, the air was let out of what seemed to be a marvelous year for when running back Chris Carson and CJ Prosise went down, one week after losing Rashaad Penny.
Lynch, a unique athlete, known for not talking to the press and for his love of Skittles candy, can at the very least provide hope for sad Seahawk fans, who watched the team get throttled at home by the Hapless Arizona Cardinals.

King 5 Reports No Evidence Of Race In Fred Jackson Car Crash

A report on the KING 5 web site contradicts a report on the TMZ Sports site by saying there was no evidence of a drag race in an accident where Seahawk running back Fred Jackson  ran his black Corvette into a stop sign on the road from the Virginia Mason Athletic Complex (VMAC) where the team practices.  TMZ Sports had initially reported that the accident occurred after a drag race between Jackson and fellow running back Marshawn Lynch.  More details are sure to emerge.

The Beast Will Return

Seattle Seahawks fans would like nothing better that to get back the Super Bowl Trophy and those hopes took a big leap today with the announcement that Marshawn Lynch has signed a new 2 year agreement with the team worth about 24 million.  Lynch is known as Beast Mode for his ability to run through defenses.  NFL analysts have consistently said that the Lynch signing was essential for the 'Hawks to make a Super Bowl run in 2015.

A sports writer named Ed Sherman has made a name for himself slamming running back Marshawn Lynch and what has become a huge side show.  Sherman is calling for a boycott on Skittles.  Never mind that Lynch is giving reporters more meat to chew on than they would have had otherwise.  Today, Sherman is all over Twitter, excited that his name was brought up on The View.  I say we Hawk fans should support Lynch and buy more Skittles!  Buy as many bags as you possibly can and fill the bowls at all Super Bowl parties with them.  Let's do even better.  Everyone who reads this should send Ed Sherman 12 bags of Skittles!

Marshawn Lynch 67 Yard Run Against New Orleans Saints

Marshawn Lynch really wasn't on the radar screen of most Seahawk fans until this play-off game against the defending NFL champion New Orleans Saints in January of 2011.  I was in the stands for that game and it was just amazing.  If you notice, the announcer is not really focused on the play until he realizes that noone can bring Lynch down.  Lynch has enjoyed rock star fame in this town ever since and shows no sign of slowing down.   This week will have the rematch of the Seahawks against the Saints on Monday Night Football.

Seahawks Eat Their Spinach--Overcome 14-0 Deficit

 

 

It looked hopeless in the first quarter, but the Seattle Seahawks were able to overcome a 14-0 first quarter deficit and defeat the Washington Redskins 24-14 in the nation's capital.  Pictured above is Marshawn Lynch's 4th quarter touchdown.  In an amazing turn of events, the Redskins were not able to score after the first quarter as Seattle started to chip away at the lead. Redskin coach Mike Shanahan was placed in a no-win situation of whether to play a banged up Robert Griffin the third. Griffin finally went down in the 4th after a fumble on a bad snap.  A Seahawk fumble recovery was marred  by the sight of the Redskin rookie laying on the ground in a heap.
The victory had a cost for Seattle as star defensive end Chris Clemmons was lost for the season with a torn ACL.    As you could predict, the discussion in the national sports media was not the 'Hawks victory, but the wisdom of Coach Shanahan of sticking with RG 3 who had shown signs of being slowed by his injuries.  This should give the 'Hawks all the motivation to turn it on this weekend.  The Seahawks will be traveling to Atlanta to face the Falcons at 10 am on Sunday.

Marshawn Lynch Will Remain A Seahawk

Marshawn Lynch has just signed a four year $31 Million dollar contract with the Seattle Seahawks.  Lynch, who came to the 'Hawks in a trade with Buffalo in 2010, had a slow start last season but a strong finish netted the running back over 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns.  Lynch's 60 plus yard touchdown in the play-offs against New Orleans will be remembered as one of the most electrifying moments in Seattle sports history.

Lynch Goes In Beast Mode Against Eagles

Seattle Seahawk Marshawn Lynch is rapidly turning into one of the NFL's most exciting players.  Last night, Lynch ran for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns as the 'Hawks beat the Philadelphia Eagles 31-14 in a nationally televised Thursday night match up.

Seahawks Turn It Around--Defeat Lowly Panthers

It started looking like their season was over and ended like their season was just beginning. Marshawn Lynch scored three second half touchdowns to lead the Seattle Seahawks to a 31-14 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Carolina, with a 1 and 10 record, scored a touchdown on it's first drive, while the Seahawk offense looked just as listless as the defense. The second half started with the Seahawks pinned at their own 4 after Leon Washington bobbled a kick-off. However, Matt Hasselbeck was able to sustain a drive to the end zone and Lofa Tatatupu intercepted a Carolina pass on the next drive and it into the end zone. Washington later took a punt on what should have been a touchdown, however, an early celebration allowed the punter to catch up and trip him. Lynch took the ball into the end zone on a subsequent play.
Seahawk great Walter Jones, who retired last spring, was honored at the 2-minute warning of the first half.

Seahawks Defeat Cardinals Again

Matt Hasselbeck passed for 333 yards leading the Seattle Seahawks to a 36-18 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Hasselbeck hit Deon Butler for a touchdown in the second quarter,
while Seahawk running backs Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett added rushing touchdowns. Olindo Mare had 5 'Hawk field goals.
This is the first time that the 'Hawks have swept the Cardinals since 2005 and gets them back on the winning track after ugly defeats on the road in Oakland and at home against the Giants. After the 49ers overtime victory against the Rams, the Seahawks are in first place in the division with a 5-4 record.
