Diego Segui may not be a familiar name to many Mariner fans, but he holds a very historical distinction in Seattle Major League Baseball history. He threw the first pitch for the
Seattle Pilots, who would leave town after the first season in 1969 to become the Milwaukee Brewers, and would also throw the first pitch for the Seattle Mariners in 1977.
Also, his son, David played for the Mariners in later years.
Segui died yesterday (Tuesday, June 24th, 2025) at 87.
