Dasher At The Pumpkin Patch

We went to Thomasson Family Farm in Enumclaw last Sunday.  Although dogs are not allowed in most of the  area where the food is sold and the petting farm are located, they are allowed in the pumpkin patch.  We took this photo of Dasher there, although we did not buy a pumpkin.

Mount Rainier On A Beautiful Sunday

The Mountain was out and so were we on a perfect fall Sunday.  The Seahawks had a bye so Deb, Dasher and I  took the opportunity to go out and enjoy an autumn drive.
We went to the pumpkin patch at Thomasson Family Farm  between Black Diamond and Enumclaw.  On the way out, we took the picture above.   We had lunch at Mint Ale House in charming downtown Enumclaw, then finished the drive with a stop at Rock Ridge Market.

Huge Pumpkin Greets Shoppers

This pumpkin in front of the Rockridge Orchards  Market near Enumclaw weighs 1246 pounds according to the sign and won first prize at this year's Puyallup Fair.  Deb and I were on a Sunday Fall drive to Nolte Park and made our annual stop at the country store at 40709 264th Ave SE in Enumclaw.

Ethan On The Mound

My nephew, Ethan Wagner prepares to pitch to this batter in the Northwest Regional Baseball Tournament  in Enumclaw. Ethan's Woodinville team had two big victories yesterday, but finished in the quarterfinals today.  We were happy to host the Wagners, as Enumclaw is just a short drive from Maple Valley.  We wound up today eating lunch at the new Brewhaus in Maple Valley, Hop Jacks.

Not Much Snow This Year??

Heading back from Walla Walla, we wanted to avoid the holiday rush on I-90 and took Highway 410 from Yakima through Naches. That took us over Chinook Pass which has elevations up to 54oo feet (above photo) Although the area was covered with snow on May 31st, the road was bare and wet. If you have ever driven through Chinook, (it was our first time), you know that the road is narrow and windy, it made for a fun trip.

The road took us around Mt. Rainier to Enumclaw where we got on the Maple Valley Highway and went back home.

An Autumn Sunday

After the depressing Seahawk game, Deb, Rusty, and I took a ride to look at the fall leaves. We wound up at Nolte Park, about 4 miles from Maple Valley toward Enumclaw. We walked the trail around Deep Lake, a hike of about a mile and a half. Here is Rusty wading into the lake.
