Old Walla Walla Radio Remembered 17--KUJ Pee Chee Folder
Big Daddy Ray Hansen found this in his attic and posted it on facebook. When KUJ went from middle of the road to top 40 radio, this folder with all the schools listed was one of it's promotions.
I grew up in Walla Walla and KUJ introduced me to a world and vocation that would last me for a lifetime. I used to sit in a chair in the hall in front of the studio window and watch Vern Russell broadcast. Little did I know I'd spend most of my life as the guy in the studio chair as a major market morning man and later a station owner. The morning Adam West visited me on my WIBC Indy morning show I introduced him as the former radio host broadcasting from the studios of KTEL Walla Walla over looking scenic Mill Creek. It blew his mind that I was from Walla Walla. Later Adam and his family spent the afternoon with my wife and kids at our house. Good memories.
