Gabbard Resigns

Gabbard has said that she is leaving to support her husband's battle with cancer.

I have a lot of respect for her more than 20-year commitment to the U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard. Her deployments to the Middle East and East Africa show a deep, personal dedication to our country. She has always been a courageous and independent thinker who is willing to cross party lines and challenge the status quo when she believes it is the right thing to do. Her decision to step away from such a demanding role as the nation's intelligence chief to support her husband through his health battle is a true testament to her character and her devotion to her family.
