In the week following the conference championship games and before the Super Bowl, there is generally little news as far NFL teams, however, a report has the city buzzing and it's not about the game itself.
Sources such as ESPN and the Wall Street Journal are reporting that the team will go up for sale after the game. The Seattle Times reports that the organization is denying the reports, however, that is common during any entity's possible sale.
Paul Allen bought the team in 1997, eventually taking the team to three Super Bowls, including a victory.
Allen's sister assumed control of the team after his death in 2018. It has been common knowledge that Allen's sports teams (including the Portland Trail Blazers) will eventually be sold, as requested by the estate.
Seattle will play in its fourth Super Bowl on February 8th (2026).
