Oregon State Fires "First Brother In Law"

 

Craig Robinson, brother of first lady Michelle Obama, has been fired as coach of the Oregon State Beavers men's basketball team. Robinson accepted the job in 2008 during President Obama's first presidential campaign.
Robinson, spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2008.  He also spoke at Seattle Magnuson Dinner that year. I attended that event, so far the only member of the Obama family that I have seen in person.  At the time of his hiring, The Obama family had for the most part, popularity that, while not universal, superceded  politics.  Now, after 6 years, the country is much more divided on how they view his presidency.  Perhaps this lead to distraction on Robinson's mission.  Oregon State now owes Robinson 4 million for the 3 years remaining on his contract.
