Dasher In Recovery

Dasher is recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right hind leg. 
For weeks, he will get only short walks and will not be able to climb stairs. 
Many thanks go out to the Companion Animal Hospital in Bellevue, where the surgery was performed.

Dasher Time

We have now been back from the Oregon Coast for a week, but I've been happy to keep the trip going through pictures.  Here is a selfie that I took of Dasher and I in Cannon Beach.  It's easy to get him on the bench. 

Relief From The Heat

With temperatures in the high 90s, Dasher enjoyed a swim in Lake Washington at the leash free zone at Luther Burbank park in Mercer Island.

Dasher Beats The Heat

Last Thursday Dasher escaped the 90 degree heat by taking a dip in Lake Wilderness. The geese in the background were not too pleased, as Dasher took their spot.  Lake Wilderness is located in the center of Maple Valley.  It's park is the city's primary recreation spot.

We sent Dasher's picture in to Q-13's pick a pet contest (where viewers can vote for their favorite pet from pictures on the web site),  he didn't win, but they used his picture to promo the next week's contest.  Here we are watching Dasher's picture come up on MJ McDermott's weather forecast.

Dasher Picture Hanging In Alki

With Dasher, there is always something making news.  We drove to Alki, a popular Seattle Beach last weekend to see his picture hang in Alki Arts,  a gallery across the street from the beach at 2820 Alki Ave SW.  It was the picture that Jeanne Romano had painted.  You can see Jeanne's work by clicking on her web site. 

Dasher Meets Birth Family Member

We took Dasher to the leashfree park in Kirkland yesterday and by coincidence met a dog that with the same birthday, by coincidence we found out it was Dasher's twin brother!  His name is Barkley and the two played together for a long time.  You surely cannot miss their striking resemblance.  Their were many Golden Retrievers there, but Dasher went right up to this one.  We were in Kirkland to have breakfast with my Dad and with my brother Steve and his wife.  Steve was in town for the weekend.

Dasher Takes An Autumn Dip

Dasher enjoys a refreshing swim as we finish our walk around the lake at Nolte State Park, near the Green River Gorge. This is our third visit to the former resort, on the last day that it will be open this season.  We discovered the park 3 years ago, when we went on a drive to look at the autumn leaves.  The park is just 8 miles from Maple Valley. 

He's A Growing Dog!

Dasher Keeps His Dad Informed

Every morning, Dasher will walk down the driveway and bring the Seattle Times to me.  Except on Sunday's when the paper weighs a ton.  Not bad for a 4 month old!

Dasher Joins The Family

It's all smiles again at our Maple Valley home as 6 week old Dasher joined our family.  Deb had been working at getting the dog secretly for a few weeks and surprised me this last Saturday with the beautiful pup.  Dasher has been adjusting well to his new home.
