Cougs Beat Oregon In Shocker!

The WSU Cougars are celebrating a 45-38 double overtime over perennial Pac 12 powerhouse Oregon.  The Cougs were trailing 31-21 with 4 minutes left in the game however a field goal and a last minute touchdown allowed them to tie it the score at the end of regulation play.  In the first overtime the teams traded touchdowns. In the second overtime, quarterback Luke Falk dove into the end zone.  A Cougar interception sealed the deal.

Former Coug Thompson Breaks Record

Mention great former WSU athletes named Thompson and the first thought that goes through your head may be the Throwin' Samoan Jack Thompson, but that may not be the case after last Friday night, Klay Thompson, who played for Coach Tony Bennett at WSU from 2008 to 2011, set an NBA record last night of 37 points in a single quarter.  In that third quarter, Thompson  had 9 3-pointers, also an NBA record.  Thompson plays for the Golden State Warriors.  He outscored the entire Sacramento Kings basketball team in that single quarter.  Thompson wound up with 52 points for the entire game.

Former Cougar Star James Donaldson Wants To Be Mayor

Former WSU Cougar and Seattle Super Sonic Center James Donaldson has announced his candidacy for Mayor of Seattle. The 7 foot plus Donaldson has been running a physical therapy business in Mill Creek for almost 20 years. Current Mayor Greg Nickels has drawn fire for his handling of Seattle's recent snowfall. Nickels is finishing his second term.
Although we don't have a "Governator" like California, this state has elected politicians with sports backgrounds, Congressman Norm Dicks played linebacker for the Washington Huskies and the late John Cherberg was a former Husky football coach who served as Lieutenant Governor.

Cougs Beat Oral Roberts

The Washington State Cougars have taken round one of the NCAA Tournament 70-54. Ivory Clark scored 19 points to lead the Cougs.

Vanderbilt will be the Cougar's next opponent in round 2.

Cougars Dream Season

The Washington State Cougars are ranked 9th in the nation, higher then they have been ranked before. The Cougs, who are guided by first year coach Tony Bennett (pictured above) were picked to finish last in the Pac 10. The experts were sure wrong on that one.
Tonight the Cougars will take on the Oregon Ducks in Eugene.

People continually say that I look like my Father. I put up this picture so you can decide, my Dad incidentally is the one on the left. I flew down to Rancho Mirage, California last weekend to visit my Dad, as his wife flew up here and stayed with my wife at our house. We drove to Los Angeles Saturday to have lunch with brother Danny and his wife Amy. This picture was taken by Danny at the Japanese Restaurant in Westwood. I am wearing my WSU shirt. Go Cougs!
