Great post Mike. The podcast raises many questions. Kroenke's company, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, has a track record of building champions, with titles across the NFL (Rams), NBA (Nuggets), and NHL (Avalanche). he fanbase had grown incredibly frustrated with Moreno’s management, especially after letting superstars like Shohei Ohtani walk. Franchise icon Mike Trout openly welcomed the news, calling it a "needed" fresh start. Kroenke is known for massive real estate developments, like the Hollywood Park campus around SoFi Stadium. A similar approach could finally resolve Angel Stadium's long-standing renovation and land lease issues. Kroenke’s success has come in leagues with hard salary caps or distinct financial structures. How he will handle the relatively unlimited free-agent spending environment of MLB remains to be seen. Some fans worry that becoming one of many teams in a massive corporate portfolio might make the Angels feel less like a community institution and more like a corporate asset. The sale arrives just as Major League Baseball faces a looming collective bargaining agreement deadline in December, meaning any massive payroll restructuring might be temporarily frozen by labor friction.
