Space Needle Gift Shop 2--Robot Barista

These use to pop up in science fiction movies and TV shows from my childhood, but now they are a reality.  This automated barista, will make a cup of espresso for customers who push buttons and pay.

Great thought-provoking post Mike. Today it serves espresso, tomorrow it calculates our trajectory to Mars. This is the first step toward the Needle physically launching into space. We came for the view of the future, but the future is brewing the coffee. In ten years, humans won't even remember how to steam milk. I, for one, welcome our new, highly caffeinated robot overlords. It knows exactly how much caffeine it takes to keep humanity compliant. Cosmo is just practicing here until NASA opens the first espresso bar on the moon. We are officially looking at the future crew member of the first manned mission to Mars. In fifty years, tourists will look at human-made coffee the same way we look at carrier pigeons. It is only a matter of time before this machine demands a lunch break and a software upgrade. Watch closely—it's not just grinding coffee beans; it's compiling a database on human behavior.
