Return Of Jan Goldberg Curran

My cousin Jan Goldberg Curran got to do what many dream about, return to her hometown as a hero.
She had her first (I think) book published and returned to her native Walla Walla for a book signing.
I lived there at the time, so I have no idea why I failed to attend.
My brother, Steve, found this ad in the UB archives.
By coincidence, the event was exactly one year before the eruption of Mount St Helens.

Great nostalgic post Mike. There is nothing quite like a hometown welcoming back one of its own. Seeing Janice Barer return to Walla Walla as published author Jan Goldberg Curran is a beautiful full-circle moment for this community. Walla Walla has always been a place that nurtures talent, and Jan’s return proves that no matter how far your career takes you, your hometown will always be right here to celebrate your success. Hosting her signing at the Carnegie Center bookshop is incredibly fitting. It brings together Walla Walla’s rich history with a fresh, exciting new literary voice. Publishing a first book is a monumental achievement. Bringing The Statue of Liberty is Cracking Up home to share with the people who knew her from the very beginning makes this milestone even more meaningful. The local ad in the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin beautifully captures the essence of small-town roots—making sure everyone knows exactly who she is by lovingly listing her maiden name, Janice Barer, right alongside her author name!
