What a wonderful emotional post Mike. It is so beautiful to see how Brandi Carlile carries on Dolly’s legacy. Their friendship was so genuine, and hearing Brandi talk about the time Dolly held her face and prayed over her shows just how deeply they were connected as artists and souls. Brandi wearing that pink jacket at Bridgestone Arena and telling the crowd, 'It’s a heavy time, but somehow, there are still butterflies,' was the perfect, heartbreakingly beautiful way to honor Dolly. The way Brandi brought out the band I'm With Her to sing 'Coat of Many Colors' was a masterclass in musical reverence. She truly did Dolly proud. Brandi Carlile calling herself 'just a heartbroken Dolly fan at the end of the day' is exactly how we all feel right now. A beautiful tribute from one icon to another.
