I Wanna Hold Your Hand--Beatles Tribute Band Rain. Chateau Ste Michelle ...

We went to see Rain, a band/show that pays tribute to the Beatles at the Chateau Ste Michelle Winery in Woodinville.  They sounded and looked remarkably like the real band, right down to the Paul character's left-handed base playing.
The show went from era to era in chronological order, starting with the Ed Sullivan appearance and ending with Abby Road.  I'll keep the encore a secret, but you could probably guess.
I had already seen two of the Surviving Beatles in individual concerts.  Paul McCartney, twice.

Randy Meisner Of The Eagles

Sad news in the pop music world as the death of former Eagles Bassist and vocalist Randy Meisner. Meisner, one of the founding members, had suffered from COPD.

Meisner left the band after the Hotel California album in the mid 70s.  He was lead vocalist on the Eagle song Take It To The Limit.

1968 Ford Mustang TV Ad Commercial (4/5) - Only Mustang '68!

Old commercials bring back memories and provide a snapshot of a certain era.  Mustang was probably the star upstart car of the 1960s.

I'm not a Taylor Swift fan, but the mania surrounding her reminds me of my young days.

Why do Jews make such great comedians?

A few theories, although I don't agree with everything presented here. I think it's we're just naturally attracted to show business.

Coug Night Has Its Ups And Downs

Here I am, showing off my Mariners Cougar Jersey.  Coug night was fun except for the wait on the jersey, which was about an hour going up a long ramp on what may have been the hottest day of the year. from the 100 level to the 300 level.  We had already got to the top when we found out we would have to go back down.  We had to ask several people who had already acquired the jerseys on where to go.

The temperatures got cooler, as did the Mariner bats.  Our beloved team dropped the second game in a row to the Detroit Tigers.

Game and jersey hassles excluded, it was a fun night, the picture above was taken at the Rooftop Boardwalk at T-Mobile Park, where there was food and drink for the Cougs fans.  The folks in the background where taking in the stunning view of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains.

Traffic Snarled On Highway 18

This truck became very familiar yesterday (July 13th. 2023) as traffic on Highway 18 came to a standstill.  It over 2 hours to get to the exit where traffic was just as bad on Issaquah Hobart Road.  I followed the same truck for most of the trip.
This was similar to a commute last November. I did not check Waze (the traffic app) and when I realized what was going on, it there was no way to turn off.
A major accident had happened at the Tiger Mountain summit. I was 2 hours late to work.

Former Congressman Dave Reichert To Run For Governor

Dave Reichert, a Republican who represented our district (Washington's 8th CD) in the House Of Representatives, has announced that he will run for Washington Governor.  Reichert was the King County sheriff befored going off to the other Washington.

His politics are considered moderate, although he is often met with hostility from rank and file Democrats

Experts have pinned his chances as a longshot, although he has traditionally gained favor from the Seattle Times.

Reichert did not  run to keep his seat in 2018.

A lovely dinner at Russell's Restaurant and Loft in Bothell.

The Purple Barer is a special wine created Seattle area Restauranteur Russell Lowell to honor my cousin Stan Barer, who passed away in December of 2021.

A great memory of my childhood, Starlit Stairway.  The jingle of the sponsor became legendary in Eastern Washington.  Perhaps the perfect ad campaign.

Maple Valley had its celebration on July 3rd, a night early.  We didn't go to the festival, but the fireworks were clearly viable from our neighborhood.
