In 1984, around this time, Seattle Seahawks president Mike McCormick announced that the team would retire the number 12 in honor of the crowds, that were so loud, it was virtually impossible for visiting team to win. The thinking was there were 11 men on the field and one loud voice in the stands. This has continued as the Hawks have moved from the Kingdome to Lumen Field.
I started to wonder, strangely after 37 years, who was the last Seahawk to wear number 12. The answer would be Sam Adkins. A backup quarterback.
