It has been announced that Mike Hopkins, an assistant coach for Syracuse, has been named head coach of the
Washington Huskies Men's Basketball team. He had been thought to be the successor of Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim upon his retirement. Hopkins has worked under Boeheim since 1996. It will be interesting to see how Husky fans react to this news. It seems like he has no ties to the Northwest and some may question his sense of loyalty.

21 years as an assistance at Syracuse seems to show some signs of loyalty. He's probably leaving because he knows it nearly impossible to replace a legendary coach.
