A Baseball Moment From 1976

On this date in 1976, rookie Ron Leflore had his 30 game hit streak snapped. LeFlore was in the middle of his rookie year for the Detroit Tigers. The game was against the New York Yankees, of course it was an former Yankee that to this day has baseball's all time hitting streak, none other than Joe Dimaggio. That was back in the 40s, and Joe was very much retired at that time. The Yankees, by the was eventually went to the World Series that year. Posted by Picasa
